500kV Phu My – Song May transmission line uncompleted in late September

The provincial People’s Committee is directing related agencies to ultimately make compensation for site clearance and promptly hand over the ground to the investor for urgent construction, complete the 500kV Phu My-Song May transmission line in late September in accordance with the urgent direction of the Prime Minister.

As of September 24, construction of the foundation pillars of the 500KV line Phu My-Song May transmission line were completed, is just waiting for energizing. Initially, the line is energized to serve the power cut of the 500 kV north - south line to build the 500KV Pleiku- My Phuoc - Cau Bong line on 1-10. However, until this time point, the remaining 11 households still have not agreed to hand over the ground. Earlier, 13 households out of 24 procrastinated households agreed the relocation plan after several times of barnstorming.

The 500 kV Phu My – Song May transmission line has 6km in length with 159 foundation positions, including the line through Ba Ria-Vung Tau province with a length of 7.87 km (including 21 foundation positions) in Phu My and My Xuan communes (Tan Thanh district). This line is important in planning to ensure power supply, socio-economic development of the Southern provinces
This is the project in the list of grid development planning for the 2006-2015, towards 2025, to create the connection, power supply for the 500kV Song May temporarily additional charge and relieve the Vinh Tan Power Center’s capacity. This work was started in 08-2009. Under the plan, the work must be completed in late 2012, but due to problems in the clearance, the investor has to reschedule many times.

Under the newest direction of the Prime Minister, the 500KV transmission line project is energized in the end of this September. In the face of the urgent request for the progress and importance of the Phu My – Song May 500 KV line, the provincial People’s Committee has held many meetings with the relevant units and people to discuss the solutions of compensation and energy. On 11-9, at the meeting with the Southern Power Project Management Board, Mr. Tran Minh Sanh, Chairman of the provincial People's Committee asked the Department of Finance in coordination with the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, Tan Thanh district People's Committee to propagandize, explain to households who disagree with the compensation policies to learn about the State regulations on compensation of clearance and the importance of the project. The police force will arrange to handle cases preventing the construction unit, in the wiring process, to ensure timely the energy on schedule.
