Received Vietnam's most modern fisheries surveillance ship

On the afternoon of August 04th, Mr. Dang Manh Hung, Party Committee Secretary of the fishery control Detachment 2 (ward 12, Vung Tau City) said the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development decided to make the most modern fisheries surveillance ship KN 781 of Vietnam the Fishery Surveillance Detachment 2 into use.

The fisheries surveillance ship 781 is built in Ha Long Shipbuilding Co., Ltd in conformity with design and technical transfer of the Damen Group (Netherlands). The fisheries surveillance ship is 90m long, 14m wide, 7m high, equipped with four 12,016 horse power engines, has the displacement of 2,400 tons, speed of over 21 knots / hour, continuous operation of 5,000 nautical miles per journey and withstand the level of big waves. The ship KN 781 has a helideck and hangar, allows bringing helicopter in long patrol. Also, the ship is equipped with two water cannons with high capacity at a target of 150 meters away.

According to Mr. Dang Manh Hung, the fisheries surveillance ship KN 781 will contribute to enhance the law enforcement on sea, maritime rescue and protect Vietnam’s sea, island sovereignty of the fisheries surveillance force.
